Home lifts are a great accessibility solution if you are struggling with your mobility, while still future-proofing it for its next owner.

From knowing whether a home lift will suit your needs and home to knowing what to expect when installation comes around, there are a number of questions you need to think about before making the final purchase…

1. How disruptive will the installation be?

Home Lifts

This one completely depends on your home and the home lift you have purchased. We are usually done in 2 days, however, more complex projects can take up to 5 days. In most situations, you will not need to move out while we are working and we will always clean up after ourselves to ensure minimal disruption is made during the process.

Occasionally, we may need to carry out some additional building or strengthening work. If that is the case in your home, we will let you know what is required, how much it will cost and how long it will take before we start the process of installation.

2. Is it suitable for wheelchair users?

We offer home lifts in a variety of sizes. So if you require a home lift to be big enough for wheelchair use, we can definitely find one that will be the perfect fit for you!

3. Which type is best for me?

If you’re unsure on which home lift is best for your needs, our trained consultants will be more than happy to quickly survey your home and advise you on the best solution.

4. How much space do I need?

It’s crucial to consider the amount of space your home lift will need, which depends on the type and model you wish to have. Our sales team will give you all the information you need, but it’s your choice as to whether that amount of space will work for you and the home you are in. Some home lifts, such as the Stiltz Duo+, are so versatile that they can be installed in the corner of a room, in a cupboard or in a stairwell void. So they can be completely out the way if you’d like!

5. What will I do if I move house?

Most home lifts can be removed and reinstalled to another home. This means that if you move house you can either bring the home lift with you or leave it in your current home. However, home lifts do add huge sale value to houses, which is why most people decide to leave it where it was originally installed to profit from it.

6. What is my guarantee?

All of our home lift customers get a minimum of 1-year manufacturer’s guarantee. When we come to install your home lift, we will also give you a full comprehensive demonstration handover where our experts will be happy to offer their help with any questions you may have. We also provide our customers with a backup battery, for use in the unlikely event of a power cull. We strive to always leave our customers in good hands with their new home addition!

Investing in a home lift is about more than convenience. It is about creating a safer and more accessible living space that supports your needs now and in the future. Whether you are planning ahead or adapting your home, it can be a valuable and practical addition.

By considering factors such as space, installation and long term use, you can make a confident decision that suits your lifestyle. With expert guidance and minimal disruption, the process is often much simpler than expected.
